Mrs. Teyan comes to us from Friends Academy in Locust Valley, New York. During her eight years there, she taught a broad range of high school science courses, including Biology, Anatomy and Physiology, Environmental Science, Marine Biology and Science Research Methods. Before her classroom career, Mrs. Teyan worked for National Audubon Society as the Program Coordinator for the Theodore Roosevelt Sanctuary, Audubon’s oldest and largest environmental education center. She also did research on lemurs in Madagascar as a volunteer with Earthwatch. Mrs. Teyan received her Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from Binghamton University and her M.A. in Secondary Science Education from Teachers College, Columbia University. Mrs. Teyan is excited to explore her new desert surroundings and is busy training for a winter marathon.
